Carousel by Gabriel Younes

Carousel is a collection of photography taken between July 2015 and July 2016 throughout the midwest and suburban Southern California. It explores the degradation of Suburban America, as though it were constantly in some sort of daze. The book also examines the use of iconography and its role in the American experience, especially in the lonely forgotten cities and towns of America’s “fly-over” states. The title Carousel is a representation of the subject matters circular life, and also the emotional journey the book aims to create.
